Jerusha Marley Silk Scarfs
Recently I had the pleasure of photographing the work of one of my favourite local artists, Jerusha Marley. I’ve been following her social media for a few years and I’m a huge fan of her designs and the pieces she’s created with them.
It was a challenge to photograph such light and delicate pieces and when I started on them I realised that it wasn’t as easy as just fold it a certain way and snap. Just getting any creases/wrinkles out of the silk took time and attention I never even thought of ahead of time, figuring how it moves, falls and reacts when folded or hung was a challenge and all this before I’ve even figured how to light them (to capture that lovely silkiness and colour).
Just capturing a few photos of these pieces was such a learning experience and I thoroughly enjoyed figuring out how I can get photos that I’m happy with. This week I’ve got more of Jerushas lovely work to photograph so stay tuned and if you’re looking for something for someone or yourself make sure to check out Jerusha’s shop and work at https://jerushamarley.com/
